Biographical information
Zack Newman is an freelance writer and researcher with an expertise in investigative data journalism, working most recently for 9Wants to Know within 9NEWS (KUSA-TV) for more than four years.
He is good at making complicated information easy to understand. Newman’s work has reached national and local audiences across multiple platforms including 9NEWS, MSNBC, ABC News, NBC News, CBS News and more.
His award-winning investigative data work has led to changes in laws and policies, exposed an international human trafficking ring, inspired the American Civil Liberties Union to sue Denver Police, prompted a Congressional inquiry, and compelled a sheriff’s office to fire a troublesome deputy. Newman has won accolades including an Emmy, Murrow and Sigma Delta Chi award.
