Biographical information
Vicky Collins is the publisher of Bucket List Community Cafe, an online community journalism site for Denver. In that capacity she works with students and recent graduates from CU Boulder and MSU Denver to deliver free hyperlocal neighborly news that builds community by sharing our stories. Bucket List Community Cafe has a unique niche at the intersection of journalism and community and is mentoring the next generation of journalists and journalism entrepreneurs. Bucket List Community Cafe is looking to partner to scale and bring this innovative journalism brand to other communities.
Vicky is also a freelance producer for NBC Network News and the owner of the production company, Teletrends. Teletrends, specializes in television production for broadcast, cable, national syndication, internet, corporate and non-profit clients. Vicky is a specialist in network news production, long form storytelling, documentaries, shows for cable and national syndication, Olympic sports, image oriented corporate presentations and videos to advance humanitarian work of non-profit organizations.
Clients have included NBC News, ABC News, Al Jazeera America, HDNet’s World Report, AXS TV’s Dan Rather Reports, BeadforLife, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and the Denver Health Foundation. Achievements include four prestigious National Emmys, two Telly Awards, an Iris Award, a Cine Golden Eagle, and the UPI/Lee Nelson Award for Outstanding Newscast in New England.
Vicky Collins has six Olympics to her credit. She was a producer for Olympic Broadcasting Services at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games in China. Vicky produced for NBC Sports at the 1996, 2000, 2002 and 2004 Olympics in Atlanta, Sydney, Salt Lake City and Athens. She is also a photographer and journalist.
