Dr. Janina E. Fariñas is the CEO and Founder of the award winning La Cocina–a nonprofit practice-based Latine training institute that has offered no-cost, culturally affirming mental health services to Latine adults, youths, children & infants since March 2017. Trained as an early-childhood pediatric neuropsychologist and a family therapist, Dr. Fariñas’ areas of clinical and research expertise include pediatric multilingual neuropsychology, Latine family studies, social-emotional influences on Latine collective action(s), and participatory community mental health & wellness design innovations that antagonize the negative impacts of sociopolitical structures on Latine mental wellness and community health.
